Skogstad joins Norwegian PEF & LCA industry initiative
Expanding collaboration to drive practical environmental footprint insights for apparel
Skogstad has joined the ongoing two-year Norwegian initiative focused on making Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses more practical and implementable for the textile industry. This marks an important expansion of the project, initially launched by Trimco Group and Green Score Capital in collaboration with leading Norwegian brands, supported by the Norwegian Fashion & Textile Association (NF&TA), and funded by Innovation Norway.

The addition of Skogstad will see the brand go through the same structured processes as the first four participants, Bergans of Norway, Camilla Pihl, Holzweiler, and Sverre W. Monsen, working with industry partners to gather and validate product data, apply consistent PEF methodologies, and evaluate lifecycle impacts across their respective product categories.
“For us, this is about building a solid foundation for future documentation and compliance. Participating in a structured PEF and LCA process helps us better understand our products’ lifecycle impacts and how to work systematically with improvement.” Says Matilde Lidtun, Head of Sustainability at Skogstad. “We see strong value in following the same process as the first participating brands. Gaining direct experience with data collection, validation, and footprint calculation allows us to better understand both the complexity and the opportunities within environmental impact analysis.” adds Matilde Lidtun.
By joining the project, Skogstad is committing to deepening their understanding of environmental footprint calculations, aligning with evolving EU regulatory expectations and industry best practices. The insights generated throughout the year will contribute to a broader knowledge base, helping apparel brands navigate complex sustainability reporting requirements and supporting strategic decision-making around materials, design, and supply chain transparency.
Industry professionals are invited to attend the final webinar in the series of the project with the initial cohort of four brands. This session will present key findings and practical learnings from the project so far, offering valuable perspectives on PEF & LCA data strategies and implementation pathways for the wider textile and fashion community.
