Scandinavian lifestyle brand J.Lindeberg and Trimco Group have announced the comprehensive onboarding of J.Lindeberg’s entire supplier base into Trimco’s ProductDNA® Certificate Manager. The rollout expands a two-decade label-and-packaging relationship into a full supply chain traceability initiative, positioning the brand to meet incoming EU textile regulations.

The initiative extends the long-standing partnership into supplier mapping, connecting supply chain certificates and factory audits to the specific products and purchase orders they relate to. For twenty years, Trimco Group supported J.Lindeberg with traditional branding elements, including care labels, hang tags, and packaging. The relationship evolved in response to shifting global regulatory demands.

Navigating New EU Textile Regulations

The partnership addresses strict new frameworks introduced by the European Commission, including the 2022 Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles and the subsequent Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). These regulations introduce the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a mandatory digital record for textile products. The detailed requirements for textiles are still to be set in a delegated act and are expected to include information such as fiber composition, recycled content, chemical compliance, and supply chain traceability.

Trimco Group is uniquely positioned to facilitate this data collection. The primary data carrier for the upcoming DPP is typically a QR code printed directly onto the garment label, the exact product Trimco already manufactures for J.Lindeberg.

A Full-Scale Data Capture Solution

The ProductDNA® Certificate Manager platform can automate the collection of supplier certificates, fiber composition, recycled content percentages, and chemical compliance certifications. The software flags missing or inconsistent documentation and links the data directly to the brand’s purchase orders and products. Because Trimco Group already had in-depth knowledge of J.Lindeberg’s supply chain, the rollout avoided the bottlenecks typical of a new software implementation, and Trimco Group’s ProductDNA onboarding team worked directly with J.Lindeberg’s internal sustainability team.

"We built ProductDNA® because we needed traceability in our own supply chain. We realised that, as we already hold key supplier information for our clients and brands, it would make sense to offer the system to our clients to use too," Camilla Mjelde, Sustainability and C&C Director at Trimco Group. "For a brand like J.Lindeberg whom we have been working with for decades, it is a natural extension of the job we already do for them."

The collaborative rollout strategy was built around J.Lindeberg’s specific supply chain objectives, defining exactly what data points required monitoring to ensure compliance across the brand's 60+ global markets.

Unified Approach to Compliance

Following a successful pilot, J.Lindeberg and Trimco Group instituted a rigorous review and analytics phase. This allowed both teams to stress-test the data, assess supplier readiness, and align the software functionality with the evolving text of the EU textile regulations before the full onboarding work began.

Sofia Bothelius, Chief Product Officer at J.Lindeberg

"The pilot allowed us to strengthen the collaboration with our suppliers and make sure that they had the right tools in place to deliver what we needed for the system to work and to get the desired output. As a global organization, Trimco Group has local teams on the ground who could help some of our suppliers get set up and ready. This existing connection gave us a strong foundation for the bigger journey ahead: building greater supply chain transparency, strengthening compliance and regulatory readiness, and capturing product data required for the Digital Product Passport." said Sofia Bothelius, Chief Product Officer at J.Lindeberg.

A Blueprint for the Textile Industry

As the fashion and sportswear industries prepare for strict enforcement of the ESPR, the J.Lindeberg and Trimco Group model shows how brands can turn their supply chains into structured, audit-ready data records by building on existing supplier relationships. "Most brands are about to face the task J.Lindeberg started early," added Camilla Mjelde. "The data work is far easier when it sits with a partner who is already deeply embedded in the supply chain, and as a labels and trims supplier, Trimco already has close contact with many key suppliers. That's the structural advantage worth paying attention to."

Both companies view the current rollout as an agile, ongoing project that will continue to evolve alongside international regulatory updates.
