Global Compliance & Content Labels
Care label compliance means every garment carries the correct fiber content, care instructions, country of origin, and market-specific information required in the market where it is sold. Rules change from one market to the next, and getting them wrong can lead to customs delays, fines, or product recalls. Trimco Group builds compliance into the label before production, so your products are ready for sale in every market you ship to.

What Must Be on a Compliant Care Label? — The difficulty is not complying with one market. It is selling the same product across multiple markets at once, each with its own required languages, wording, and symbol set. Requirements vary by market, but most regions require a common set of information:
/ Fiber composition, listed by percentage
/ Washing and care instructions, as text, symbols, or both
/ Country of origin
/ Size
/ The identity of the manufacturer or importer (for example, an RN or CA number in the US and Canada)
/ Any market-specific safety or handling wording
Accurate Translations for Global Markets — Trimco Group works from a curated translation and care icon database built specifically for care and content labels, rather than a general translation tool. We check every term for accuracy, consistency, and how it is actually used on a label in each market.
/ Care and content translations in 40+ languages
/ Country of origin in the languages required for your markets
/ Fiber composition in the required languages
/ Shared translations are not unnecessarily repeated across markets, helping shorten the label and save space
The result is one label that reads correctly in every market it reaches, without duplicated text adding unnecessary length.

Care Symbol and Icon Conversion — Care symbols are not universal. ASTM symbols used in North America differ from the ISO symbols used across much of Europe and Asia. Trimco Group converts your care instructions into the correct symbol set for each destination market, so the same washing instructions are communicated accurately wherever the garment is sold.
We Review the Content Before We Print It — Most label errors are set before production starts. Our teams review the label first and correct issues while they are still cheap to fix.
/ Care and fiber-content audit against your specification
/ Correct terminology, so garment parts and materials are described the way regulators and standards expect
/ Layout and content review for clarity and required order
/ Care-symbol and icon conversion for each market
/ QR codes and e-commerce-ready content where you want them
Correct terminology matters more than it might seem. Terms such as “main fabric,” “hood panel,” and “pockets” may need to be standardized to terms such as “body” and “panels.” “Rayon” and “bamboo” may also need to be converted to the correct declared fiber, such as “viscose.”
Simplifying the wording without losing meaning keeps the label compliant while keeping it concise.

Optimize Before We Produce — Once the content is correct, we right-size the label. Optimizing the size, wording, and layout reduces material use and production complexity, and can often reduce costs without losing clarity or compliance.
A real example from a live program: a care label went from 8 pages to 2 pages and from an oversized format to a fixed 40 × 101 mm format. We also added a QR code and removed redundant “keep away from fire” text where it was not required.
The result: the same level of compliance, with less material, lower cost, and a cleaner label in the garment.
Compliance Expertise That Keeps Up With the Rules — Care and content regulations keep moving. Trimco Group has a dedicated team of industry professionals who research and track upcoming rules, regulations, and standards, so your labels stay compliant as requirements change, rather than being updated after the fact. For brands moving into new regions, that expertise lowers the risk of entering a market with the wrong label

From Label to Reportable Data — A care and content label is also a structured data source. During production, Trimco Group captures product, material, market, supplier, and order data. Through ProductDNA®, that data becomes structured information you can access, reuse, and report on for regulatory reporting, EPR responsibilities, traceability, and ESG goals.

FAQ
Care label compliance is making sure a garment's label carries the correct fiber content, care instructions, country of origin, and any market-specific information required in the countries where the product is sold, in the required languages and symbol formats.
Trimco Group provides care and content translations in 40+ languages. A standard global setup often carries country of origin in 13 languages and fiber composition in 27, with shared translations not repeated to keep the label short.
ASTM care symbols are used mainly in North America and ISO care symbols are used across much of Europe and Asia. The symbols look different, so care instructions need to be converted to the correct set for each destination market.
Yes. When we start working together, our team can audit your existing care labels for content, wording, symbols, and compliance, or propose a setup we consider more suitable for your markets. We share our recommendation based on that assessment; the decision on what to use stays with your brand. We send every layout to you for approval before production, so the label that goes to print is the one you reviewed and signed off on. Because our role is advisory, the brand retains final responsibility for the approved label.
Yes, and you own it. We can share the data captured while producing your care labels wherever you need it, including directly to your own systems or partners. For brands that want the data and reporting in one place, ProductDNA® structures it for regulatory, EPR, traceability and ESG needs.
